Free Range Tea
Like free range chickens, "Free Range" teas are produced by tea plantations that have been deliberately left to grow on their own. No fertilizer or pesticides are used so the tealeaves come in different sizes and may have insect marks. This is a type of natural organic tea.Free Range Tea is picked by hand only in spring and winter then processed like most lightly fermented oolong tea. It is however kneaded lightly into cords into a shape similar to that of Wunshan White Tea. As each season`s output is quite low it is a very rare and precious tea.Brewing Method:Hot Brew: Fill tea vessel up to three quarters with tealeaves (slightly more than ordinary oolong tea) then pour in hot water heated to 95 degrees Celsius. Allow to steep for 30 to 40 seconds. The resultant brew has a natural fruity fragrance and a touch of the wild, creating a refreshing and thought provoking tea.(Tip: The first brew from Free Range Tea has the strongest tea fragrance. Do not waste the first brew. After the second brew subsequent steeping can be extended by around 10 seconds each)Cold Brew: With 3g as the basic unit, place in 500cc of cold boiled water or bottled mineral water then leave to soak for 3~5 hours before drinking. The tea is sweet with a fruity fragrance. It can also be chilled in the fridge to make a great drink for the summer.
