Oriental Beauty Tea

The Oriental Beauty Tea is one of Taiwan`s Ten Famous Teas. It was renowned as the "Formosa Oolong Tea" over a hundred years ago and awarded the title "Oriental Beauty Tea" by the British Queen. As the tea trees are not sprayed with pesticides large populations of tea green leafhoppers develop. Buds that have been sucked on by the leafhoppers are picked by hand then fermented and dried. The result is a very rich honey fragrance that can`t be matched by ordinary tealeaves. The brew is an amber color with an orange-reddish tint. Its sweet and refreshing with a unique fruity sweetness that seduces the taste buds.Brewing MethodA porcelain or glass vessel is recommended, such as a porcelain teapot or a covered cup. Fill 3/4 of the tea vessel with tealeaves then pour in boiled water heated to over 90 degrees Celsius. Wait 30 seconds and the tea can be poured out and enjoyed.The tea can be steeped repeatedly with the brewing time adjusted in 5-second increments according to personal preference and the thickness of the brew.
