Features:1) Composition: oxytetracycline 200mg2) Description: oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic, and is indicated forthe treatment and control of condition caused by or associated withoxytetracycline sensitive organisms. A large number of Gram-positive andgram-negative bacteria, certain mycoplasma species, rickettsiae, Protozoaand chlamydiare sensitive to oxytetracycline3) Indications: for the treatment and control of conditions caused byoxytetracycline-sensitive organisms. Such as Pasteurellosis, Pneumonia, Enteritis,Septicaemia, injection of the urinary system4) Dosage and administration: administer by deep intramuscular injection at asingle dose rate of 1ml per 10kg of body weight. It is recommended in cattlethat not more than 20ml, in pigs not more than 10ml, and in sheep not morethan 5ml,be injected at any one site. In pigs weighing less than 10kg a 1mldose should be used. In young lambs for the short term control of tick bornefever and tick pyaemia a 2ml dose should be used per lamb.5) Side effect: hypersensitivity reactions, intestinal disturbances may occur afteradministration. Well tolerated but,occasionally, a slight transient reaction may beobserved by the injection side6) Caution: occasional sensitivity reactions to oxytetracycline have been known tooccur.
