Sand Filter
Sand filter provides the removal of solids/particles suspended in the liquid by passing through a filter bed comprised of a granular or filter medium with the functions of sediment, straining, impacting, coherence, and adhesion. The raw wastewater is fed and distributed through an inlet partition, and the solids/particles are retained while flowing through the filter medium bed. The filtered water is collected in the underdrain system, which is also used to re-suspend and backwash the filter medium at the end of filtration run to remove the solids/particle wastes. It is ideal and efficient for waster and wastewater tertiary treatment. Purpose: Remove solids/particles in tertiary water/wastewater treatments. Features: Numerous filtration bed media and their combinations: anthracite, sand, garnet, limonite, granular activated carbon, and ion exchange resins. Functional modes: filtration run, backwash, discharge, transitional flow, bypass, and test. Modular capacity ranges from 5 to 100 m3/hr. Applications: For the uses of long filter run, low O/M cost, and superior effluent quality: 1. Advanced treatment of wastewater effluent polishing. 2. Groundwater, washing water, and process water purification. 3. Swimming pool, landscape fountain water, Sauna water, and cooling tower make-up water recycling/reuse.
