Its tenacity is 15 times to high quality steeland 10 times to normal chemical fiber. This fiber also has the characteristicsof low density, high modulus, UV resistance, corrosion resistance, outstandinganti-impact and anti-incision.It also can be widely used in national defense weaponry, such as light weight andhigh performance bulletproof plates, bulletproof helmets, soft bulletproof vestsand anti-thrust vests. Other applicative fields are composite materials for aviation,spaceflight, ocean shipping, ropes for navy vessel, tow nets for ocean halieutics,anti-storm woven nets, sports equipment and construction reinforcementcomposite materials.At present, there are only the DSM (Holland), HONEYWELL (the USA), SANSEI (Japan)can produce this fiber and all of these three`s annual output are only 4,500MT.Since the 1990s, this fiber was stipulated by the Coordinating Committee aboutthe blockage of the techniques and technology. The products couldn`t be sold toSocialist countries for national defense applications.
