Italian winery, whose name goes back to the early eighteen hundreds and refers to a nearby stream full of river crayfish.Since ancient times this area has been dedicated to wine production, thanks to its ideal micro-climate and the very favourable nature of the soil.The vineyard, consisting of 11 hectares of vines, completely renovated cellars and a mansion with outbuildings, is run by the young owners. They bought the entire property in 2003 and have chosen to work fulltime in the countryside, bringing their business abilities and enthusiasm to their new lifestyle.The wines are born of the passion of the owners who, ably assisted by their own staff, pursue a very precise objective: to enhance the typical characteristics of the combination of their soil and climate while maintaining the highest standards of quality through a judicious blend of the most modern technology and the most careful workmanship. With this philosophy and meticulous work in the fields and wine cellars, the owners family is committed to creating the finest wines, seeking always to find the best price/quality ratio.When the present owner was creating his range of wines, he wanted to pay a special tribute to his father, his grandfather and to their shared passion for horses. All the companys wines are named after some of the memorably impressive thoroughbreds that have, from the mid 20th century to the present day, written the history of the familys prestigious stables.That is why a bay foaled in 1949 and the stables foundation stallion, gave his name to its Chardonnay. The Bonarda is named after the 1961a chestnut mare.
