Giddapahar First Flush 2007


Grade: SFTGFOP1 (SPL) CH-very mellow, light liquoring, fine sorted, tippy tea with a refreshing smooth flavour from this high altitude estate producing only a small quantity of tea each year.The name Giddapahar means, the eagle`s crag in the local dialect. Of course it is perched high up on a rugged hill away from the cozy town of Kurseong. The town Kurseong can boast of a glorious past as many a celebrity had spent their time in this misty town, one being Mark Twain. Giddapahar produces one of the best quality of Darjeeling teas which can be attributed to the slow growth of the tea bushes due to the haze all around and almost round the year. From this tea garden located at a height of 4, 900ft approx. , the panoramic view of the plain below is breathtaking.
