TrainBus is a high-speed-stored device combining IEEE1394 high-speed serial bus transfer with FlashChip Disk IDE for mass data storage. TrainBus takes advantages of IEEE1394 high-speed serial bus to store the mess data in the FlashChip IC whose technology can maximize the capacity of the disk in a minimum size. TrainBus supports data rates of 100,200 and 400Mbit/sec across the cable medium supported in the current standard to enhance PC connectivity for a wide range of devices. This TrainBus defines a point-to-point cable-connected virtual bus. The Non-volatile design requires no battery. A solid-state feature offers very high access performance, which shortens mechanical seek and rotation time. It may also offer very high data transfer capability. Furthermore, the true plug-and-play function allows high performance but low power consumption, and the rugged mechanical layout resists shock and vibration. It has been adopted by the consumer electronics industry and is expected to provide a volume, plug and Play-compatible expansion interface for the PC. With those characteristics, nowadays, TrainBus is widely applied to consumer electronics audio/video ? A/V ? appliances, storage peripherals, other PCs and portable devices for mass data storage.
